A pliable interface that is human first.
Our client, is aiming to establish itself as one of the top companies in Japan by creating one of the most flexible AI-powered e-commerce app in the country.
This project aimed to achieve two outcomes: first, to design a a flexible and usable interface that melds with our clients branding; second was to design components that work with the core features powered by artificial intelligence.
We supported this project by taking on various aspects from research to usability testing to prototyping development, UX/UI design, and translations.
Harmonizing Esthetics and Utility
How might we design a natural E-Commerce experience that is simple, accessible, and trustworthy for foreigners living in Japan, especially those who face language barriers, feel overwhelmed by how information is presented, or are frustrated by procedures that differ from their cultural expectations?
One hypothesis we proposed was to define the user’s voice before we define the personality of the app, this would naturally build a human connection established by experience and would be enhanced by the unique tone and concept and color scheme.
How we systemitically approached creation of this app brought the vision to life, showcasing a flexible and versatile interface and experience.
Collaborating & Empathizing with the user
In this project, rather than interviewing just clients living in Japan, we sought for for no adapted responsed outside of Japan, we took an approach that let us incorporate more essential elements into the store.
To achieve a working design this, we worked with wit hour client as a team from the outset, collaborating over an extended period time with the perspective of an outside who has never lived in Japan. During this time, we engaged in numerous in-depth discussions about the form of the store. In particular, when considering the overall UX, all team members participated in face-to-face meetings, engaging in discussions that delved into even the smallest details.
